Research areas

  • Affective Neuroscience and Cognition: I am interested in determining to what extent cognition can be modulated according to the affective characteristics of stimuli and contexts linked to human beings.
  • Executive Functions: I study this construct as an approach to high order cognitive processing linked to human beings.
  • Psychobiology and Behavior: I examine behaviors in human and non-human animals with the aim of determining changes in cognition (e.g., attentional processes, memory and learning) linked to modifications or alterations in central nervous system structures and peripheral variables.

Research in progress

  • Thesis Project: “ROLE OF EMOTION IN NEUROCOGNITIVE PROCESSING: A multilevel approach to the modulation of executive functions by emotions.
  • Inter-faculty Research Project: “Evaluation of the therapeutic effect of endovenous administration of mesenchymal stem cells on the recovery of cognitive function in rats subjected to chronic alcohol consumption”.
