El investigador del\u00a0CIME<\/a>\u00a0y del\u00a0CEBCS<\/a>,\u00a0Dr. Jorge Varela<\/strong>, y la candidata a Doctor del programa de\u00a0Doctorado en Ciencias del Desarrollo y Psicopatolog\u00eda<\/a>,\u00a0Paulina S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>, fueron convocados para participar del\u00a0\u201cWorld Anti-Bullying Forum 2019\u201d<\/strong>, realizado desde el 4 al\u00a06 de junio en la ciudad de Dubl\u00edn, Irlanda.<\/p>\n

Este encuentro cont\u00f3 con la participaci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 600 delegados de 45 pa\u00edses. El objetivo principal de este foro internacional y multidisciplinario fue ampliar la comprensi\u00f3n del acoso escolar, fortalecer los v\u00ednculos interdisciplinarios, y difundir el conocimiento a profesionales, investigadores y agentes involucrados en la toma de decisiones en todo el mundo.<\/p>\n

El\u00a0Dr. Varela<\/strong>\u00a0particip\u00f3 presentando su investigaci\u00f3n:\u00a0\u201cExploring the influence of school bonding, bullying behavior on student engagement for chilean adolescents\u201d<\/em>, a su vez, la Candidata a Doctor,\u00a0Paulina S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>\u00a0present\u00f3\u00a0\u201cSchool climate, bullying behavior and mental health among chilean adolescents\u201d<\/em>, ambos de la Facultad de Psicolog\u00eda de la Universidad del Desarrollo, y cuyos trabajos est\u00e1n enmarcados en el proyecto FONDECYT N\u00b0 11170746\u00a0\u201cEl clima escolar como un factor protector de conductas de violencia: identificando aspectos claves para escuelas resilientes\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ambos investigadores coincidieron que instancias como \u00e9stas \u201cson necesarias para desarrollar enfoques m\u00e1s efectivos que permitan combatir el acoso escolar y permitir a cada ni\u00f1o, ni\u00f1a y joven el derecho a crecer sin ser intimidado, excluido o discriminado, siendo los investigadores latinoamericanos los portavoces de una realidad social en particular, pero tambi\u00e9n quienes pueden contribuir al desarrollo del conocimiento y abordaje de esta problem\u00e1tica a nivel mundial\u201d.<\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s de las presentaciones, fue posible establecer redes de contacto y colaboraci\u00f3n a nivel internacional. Actualmente, el Dr. Varela y S\u00e1nchez trabajan en el cap\u00edtulo\u00a0\u201cResearch and Intervention in South America\u201d del nuevo Handbook \u201cWiley-Blackwell Handbook of Bullying\u201d<\/em>\u00a0de los editores y organizadores del evento Peter K. Smith y James O\u2019Higgins Norman.<\/p>\n
